Not sure how WHIO reported it but I did ask Alan Scheafer tonight, "what would happen if I announced that I intended to resign effective Dec 31, 2015?  Would the Board of Elections schedule a mayoral election for next year with the primary in May 2015 and the general election November 2015.  If so would I be eligible to run?

If this is how it would work then I would be willing to announce a Dec 2015 resignation and then run in the May 2015 primary and November 2015 election.

It is my expectation that I would never leave office.  I would announce resignation next month, get the most votes in the May primary,  win the election November 2015, have the resignation happen Dec 31, 2015 and then be sworn into office on Jan 1, 2016.   We will see what City Attorney, Mr. Schaeffer, says later.

Now of course I've just broken my own guidance which is to stay on task and not get distracted from the important issues of the City.  So let me remind you again that we are still waiting on a Music Center Operations budget, the assumptions we are using in order to be able to pay back the Music Center Construction Costs, some form of analysis that shows our supplement / incentive to Carriage Trails houses will benefit the City and a payment plan for replacing the money from the Sewer and Water funds that we borrowed from ourselves.  And this is the short list.
