Huber Heights Mayoral Recall of Thomas McMasters

I've read through the first posting of the recall team and pasted it below.  My initial read is they won't actually ever give any specific examples of the allegations they make.  This is because if they do it will allow debate within the community about; the facts on how items actually made the news, the circumstances that cause the conflict, and the progress we made in the city these past few years.

I will say that it is true that I am an independent candidate for Congress.  I wish that I could in good faith send you to my campaign website, but truth of the matter is that I'm so please to have my wife back from her trip in the Philippines, that I've been spending a lot of time being as attentive as I can.  Then there is also the fact that I am interested to see how this attempt to get a recall on the ballot will play out for the advocate of a City Center.  Not to mention that I also have a five kids, a full time job and, oh yea, still need to see if I can make heads or tails of the water softening financials provided in this weeks read ahead.  So I am disappointed TomMcMasters.us isn't set up yet to take advantage of all this free publicity but I appreciate your checking in often to look for improvements in the articles and opportunities to help with the campaign.  Remember I don't ask for or accept monetary campaign contributions, so if I am going to succeed it depends on you spreading the word that I am a candidate.

Here is a copy of the complaint found on the Facebook page.   Of course it is so badly conceived you can't help but wonder if maybe this whole thing is just a set up to get me publicity for my congressional campaign.  Though I plan on taking advantage as much as possible of the publicity it will bring, I did not orchestrate it.

Subject: Huber Residents for Sound Leadership (HRSL) Statement to the Community
Re: Mayoral Recall
Dear Fellow Huber Heights Community Members:
The Residents of Huber Heights voted the current Mayor into office in 2013 expecting change. For the past 2.5 years it has become evident to the community that Tom McMasters is more interested in creating or fanning the flames of drama for his own political gain, than issues facing the City. The citizens of Huber Heights are exhausted that our community is constantly making headlines resulting from McMasters’ personal agenda, political ambitions, and constant run for Congress. He scoffs at our concerns and welcomes our initiative as “free press” for his never ending Congressional bid. McMasters ego never allows the time needed for the work of this great City to be done, but instead, allows him unending hours in a day for incorrect social media and blog posts, that he likes to pass off as fact, then when called out on these falsehoods, frames it as a way to stimulate conversation and debate. Other examples of poor behaviors are his ongoing unprofessional conduct in council meetings and disregard for the rules of council and the City charter along with his use of social media as a tool to further disparage fellow members of council. His manipulation of local media to embarrass Huber Heights, conversations with third party entities that place Huber Heights in a position to be hurt. This community is disappointed and embarrassed in McMasters continued and repeated disrespect to citizens who speak at council meetings as he routinely cuts us off and/or yells at citizens during meetings. This is the same treatment he gives to his fellow council members, the council that the Mayor is supposed to lead and to serve as an example for. During council meetings the Mayor had many unprofessional outbursts which, if he were minimally skilled in leadership, could have been handled in a manner that would have efficiently addressed each situation in a more effective and powerful manner. These are the character defects and traits of a Mayor, we as citizens are not interested in.
HRSL wants to move forward in a positive direction with leadership that is a direct reflection of the morals and values of this community. Leadership without confrontations, outbursts, drama, and the many embarrassing events that various news sources have reported on since McMasters took office. Huber Heights deserves a Mayor who genuinely cares about our City, its residents, and its growth. In order to make this a reality, Huber Residents for Sound Leadership has started a recall/petition process to recall the Mayor, Thomas McMasters. We look forward to your support in the upcoming months as we work around the community to gather the required signatures to ensure this recall effort makes it onto the November Ballot.
Sincerely and with the Upmost Respect,

Huber Residents for Sound Leadership
