Executive Session - School and City - When are they appropriate?

News: Executive Session - School and City - When are they appropriate?

Saturday Feb 2, 2013 the school board will hold an executive session probably to discuss the upcoming negotiations with the teacher's union.  Is this appropriate?  Both the city and the school board always go into executive sessions for employment discussions. The school and the city are allowed to hold these discussions in executive sessions.  Read ORC 121.22 you'll see they are not required…

I simply want to know a few details about the current expiring teacher contract. What were the raise percentages each year? What months did those raises occur?  How much do teachers contribute towards thier insurance? How much do they contribute towards thier retirements? How much money was cut from the school budgets yet teachers recieved a raise?

I can check on www.buckeyeinstitute.org and see the past salaries…and teachers are doing well. My simple point is if my insurance goes up because of Obama care, teachers need to pay much more also.

School Board Meeting

I received an automatic phone call saying there is a school board meeting Mon the 11th at 6pm and city's council meets at 7pm.  How are we suppose to be in two places at one time?  This must be a pretty important school board meeting for them to send a call out in the masses.
