With my resident based knowledge of the Aquatic
Center Proposal my vote would put in jeopardy the likelihood of the
project being completed prior to Memorial Day 2012.
I would not put at risk any significant city funds by entering into the architectural contract until: 1. The operating plan and agreement with the Y is formalized and it is possible to do a reasonable prediction of revenues/loses. 2. The total project costs are better defined. This includes trade-offs as well as other potential cost savings which may include looking for better prices from the architect and ensuring contractor prices reflect the current economic conditions. 3. The council has made a genuine attempt to inform the public and honestly looked for public comment.
